Partner Activation
Stay22: Turning a Sponsor Conversation Into a Developer Activation
Stay22 is a major travel-tech company focused on travel affiliate monetization and infrastructure. The sponsorship started as a conversation in the travel-tech ecosystem and became a package designed around what its team actually wanted from a room full of builders.
1. How the relationship started
The relationship developed through the travel-tech ecosystem and direct outreach. Stay22 wanted more than logo placement, so the first conversations were about goals rather than sponsor tiers.
Its stated goals included:
- builder awareness
- SDK education
- product experimentation
- project discovery
- technical talent visibility
2. Designing the package
I helped shape a Gold Sponsor package around those goals rather than a standard tier list. The package included an organizer-distributed SDK email and access to review eligible Devpost submissions after judging, subject to participant consent and platform rules.
I coordinated with Stay22 leadership and product marketing to prepare the attendee communication so the SDK material would reach builders in a form they could act on during the event.
3. Public announcement
Stay22 approved a public sponsor announcement. The public wording is simple: Stay22 joined Checkout as a Gold Sponsor to introduce its SDK to builders, support product discovery, and review eligible project submissions after judging.

4. Current status
Commercial terms were agreed, the invoice was sent to finance, and the sponsorship agreement was sent for signature.
Nothing beyond that is claimed here. Contract terms are not published.
5. What this work demonstrates

- custom package design
- event monetization
